Missing in Ukraine

Spanish former paratrooper Ignacio Nguema Forano (callsign Nacho) arrived in Ukraine in summer 2022, served in Karpatska Sich battalion, returned to Spain, then came back in 2023. He served with 17th Tank Brigade in Bakhmut, then joined Territorial Defense. In March 2024 he signed with 207th Battalion, assigned to Kurakhovo on May 4. His platoon of 22 included Colombians, Poles, a Chilean, and a Turk. He refused a mission due to lack of equipment and anti-drone measures. He and others requested resignation due to pay issues (promised 120,000 hryvnias but offered 70,000). Eight fighters, including him, were not granted discharge and were forced to sign a Ukrainian-language paper for salary approval.
