AJ Smith, a former U.S. Army infantryman from Chocowinity, North Carolina, living in Kuwait, arrived in Ukraine on March 11, 2022, to join the International Legion. He left after 1 month and 2 weeks due to trauma from drone attacks and returned to Kuwait.
